Lift ProvenNew in October 2026, few ratings yet

Every established app here is rated highly. Lift Proven is new, so it does not have a track record of reviews yet. Weigh that honestly.

Lift Proven

Lift Proven is a UK gym workout log with a strength coach built in. You tell it your goal (strength, size or both), your experience and how many days you train, from 2 to 6. It then writes every weight, set and rep, and adjusts after each session from the sets you logged. Miss reps and it adjusts; beat them and it moves you on. It plans phases, adds lighter weeks when you need them, and can fit a session into 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

The other half is competition. Film a set and your phone checks depth and lockout on every rep. Verified lifts go on gym, county, country and world leaderboards, by weight or by bodyweight (DOTS). You can hold the crown for your gym's best squat, bench, deadlift or press, and challenge friends head to head. It also makes share cards for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or WhatsApp, saves sessions to Apple Health or Health Connect, and imports your history from Strong or Hevy.

Things to know: it is new, launched in October 2026, with few reviews so far. The full coach, rankings and challenges need Lift Proven Pro (Pro £9.99/month or £59.99/year, 7-day free trial on yearly).

Hevy

Hevy is one of the most popular workout trackers, with its website citing 17 million+ athletes. It runs on iOS, Android, the web, Apple Watch and Wear OS. Its strength is the community: you follow friends and athletes, see their workouts in a feed, like and comment, and save their routines. The free plan allows 4 routines, 7 custom exercises and 3 months of data history; Pro removes those limits. Hevy can import a CSV exported from Strong.

Best for: people who want a polished free log with a social feed and plan their own training.

Strong

Strong is a long-standing, simple logger on iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. The free version has no cap on workouts but is limited to 3 custom routines. It includes a plate calculator, warm-up calculator, rest timer, RPE, charts and CSV export of your data. Strong's App Store listing describes it as suited to progressive barbell routines like Starting Strength or StrongLifts 5x5, which you run yourself.

Best for: lifters who already know their program and want the fastest, cleanest way to record it.

Fitbod

Fitbod builds workouts for you with AI, around your goals and equipment, and learns from your edits. It works on iOS and Android, integrates with Apple Health and has an Apple Watch app. There is a 7-day trial, after which logging new workouts needs a subscription.

Best for: people who want each day's workout generated for them, including mixed goals and home or hotel gyms.

JEFIT

JEFIT has a library of 1,400+ exercises with video guidance, and runs on iOS, Android, the web, Apple Watch and Wear OS. Free logging has no ads. JEFIT Elite adds an Adaptive AI Coach that suggests the next weight and reps from your logs, plus a library of pro-built plans. JEFIT also has opt-in social features including leaderboards and challenges.

Best for: people who want a big exercise library, ready-made plans and an optional community.

Boostcamp

Boostcamp is built around programs. Its free tier includes the workout tracker and 99 of its 132 coach-designed programs, with no ads. Pro adds Auto Progression, personalised programs, analytics and Pro-only programs. It runs on iOS and Android.

Best for: lifters who want to follow a well-known program written by a named coach.

StrongLifts 5x5

StrongLifts is built around the 5x5 program with fully automated progression, plus variations such as Madcow 5x5 in Pro. It works on iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, and lets you export your data. Its US App Store listing says it is free to download but requires a subscription to use.

Best for: beginners who want to run 5x5 exactly as written.

Alpha Progression

Alpha Progression generates strength training plans and gives weight and rep recommendations for each working set from your logged performance, with optional RIR. It is on iOS and Android, and exports your data as CSV. Its free version includes unlimited logging and manual plans.

Best for: people focused on muscle building who want set-by-set targets.

Pick the right one

  • Pick Lift Proven if you want a coach to set every weight from your own logs and you want your lifts to count on a leaderboard that cannot be faked. Be prepared to pay for Pro to get the full coach.
  • Pick Hevy if you want a free log with a strong social side and you plan your own sessions.
  • Pick Strong if you want a simple log and already follow a program.
  • Pick Fitbod if you want each workout generated around the kit you have.
  • Pick Boostcamp if you want a named coach's program with a free library.
  • Pick StrongLifts if you want 5x5 and nothing more.
  • Pick Alpha Progression or JEFIT if you want plan generation and next-set suggestions with a different focus or a larger exercise library.

Let Lift Proven set your weights

Tell it your goal and days, and it writes every weight, set and rep, then adjusts after each session. Bring your history from Strong or Hevy.
