Hevy alternative
Hevy is a strong free workout log with a social feed. If you want an app that sets every weight, set and rep for you and adjusts after each session, with gym leaderboards where lifts are checked on video, Lift Proven is the alternative. You can export your workouts from Hevy and import them into Lift Proven.
What Hevy does well
Hevy is a popular, well-rated workout tracker. Its website cites 17 million+ athletes and the US App Store shows 4.9 from 99K ratings. It is worth being clear about why people like it:
- A generous free plan. Unlimited workout logging, with 4 routines, 7 custom exercises and 3 months of data history on the free plan.
- Community. Follow friends and athletes, see their workouts in a feed, like and comment, and save their routines.
- Everywhere you train. iOS, Android, the web, Apple Watch and Wear OS.
- A low Pro price. On the US App Store, Pro is $2.99 a month, $23.99 a year or $74.99 for lifetime. Pro unlocks unlimited routines, custom exercises and all-time history.
If those are the things you value, Hevy is a good choice and you may not need to switch.
Where Lift Proven is different
Hevy is mainly a log: you plan the routine and pick the weights, and Hevy records what you did. Lift Proven takes a different approach in two areas.
1. A coach sets every weight
Lift Proven writes your training for you. Set your goal (strength, size or both), level and 2 to 6 training days, and it gives you every weight, set and rep. After each session it adjusts from the sets you actually logged. Miss reps and it adjusts; smash them and it moves you on. It plans proper phases (build muscle, get stronger, peak for a test day or meet), adds lighter weeks when you need them rather than on a fixed calendar, fits a session to 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and remembers exercise swaps if something is sore.
2. Leaderboards you cannot fake
Film your set and your phone checks depth and lockout on every rep. Verified lifts go onto gym, county, country and world boards, by weight or bodyweight (DOTS). Hold the crown for your gym's best squat, bench, deadlift or press, get told when someone takes it, and challenge friends head to head with verified lifts only.
Also included
- Fast set logging with targets, warm-ups and plates per side worked out

How to move your history from Hevy
Your Hevy history is useful: Lift Proven's coach uses it to set your first weights from what you have actually lifted, rather than guessing.
- In Hevy, go to Profile › Settings › Export & Import Data › Export Data and choose Export Workouts (not Export Measurements).
- Save the file to your phone.
- In Lift Proven, open Settings › Bring history from Strong or Hevy and choose the file.
- Lift Proven shows how many sessions and sets it matched. Any exercise it cannot match yet is listed as skipped, so you know what did not come across.
- Tap Import.
Your Hevy account is not changed by exporting, so you can keep both apps while you decide.

Questions
- What is a good Hevy alternative?
- If you want the weights set for you and video-verified leaderboards, Lift Proven is an alternative. Strong is a simpler log, Boostcamp is built around coach programs, and Fitbod generates workouts with AI. If you are happy with free social logging, Hevy remains a good choice.
- Can I import my Hevy workouts into Lift Proven?
- Yes. Export your workouts from Hevy (Profile, Settings, Export & Import Data, Export Data, Export Workouts), then choose the file in Lift Proven under Settings, Bring history from Strong or Hevy.
- Does Hevy set the weights for you?
- Hevy is mainly a workout log where you plan routines and choose weights. Its listing and help pages we checked do not describe an automatic coach that sets your weights.
- Is Lift Proven cheaper than Hevy?
- No. Hevy Pro is cheaper, and Hevy's free plan covers unlimited logging. Lift Proven Pro costs £9.99 a month or £59.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial on yearly, because it includes the coach and verified rankings.
