"Not listed" means we could not find it on Hevy's store listing, website or help pages, or in Lift Proven's own feature list. It is not proof the feature is missing.

Competitor prices are the US dollar prices shown on the US App Store or the developer's own site on 22 October 2026. UK prices in pounds are set separately by each developer, so check the App Store or Google Play on your phone for the current UK price. Lift Proven prices are UK prices.

Programming: who decides the weight?

This is the biggest difference. In Hevy, you build routines (4 on the free plan, unlimited with Pro) and decide what goes on the bar. Hevy records the session, tracks your records and shows your progress. That suits people who know what they want to run.

In Lift Proven, the coach decides. You choose a goal (strength, size or both), your level and 2 to 6 training days. It sets every weight, set and rep, then reads what you logged and adjusts the next session. It plans phases to build muscle, get stronger or peak for a test day or meet, and puts in lighter weeks when your logs say you need one. If a joint is niggly, you swap the exercise and it remembers. Programming draws on established methods such as 5/3/1, top sets with back-offs, and waves.

Competition: feed or leaderboard?

Hevy's social side is a feed. You follow friends and athletes, see their workouts, like and comment, and save their routines. It is a friendly way to keep each other going.

Lift Proven's social side is competition with proof. Film a set and your phone checks depth and lockout on every rep. Verified lifts rank on gym, county, country and world boards, by weight or bodyweight (DOTS). You can hold your gym's crown for squat, bench, deadlift or press and get told when someone takes it, or challenge a friend head to head.

Price

Hevy is the cheaper option. Its free plan covers unlimited logging, and Pro is low cost. Lift Proven is free to download, but the full coach, rankings and challenges need Lift Proven Pro at £9.99 a month or £59.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. You are paying for the coaching and the verified rankings.

Track record

Hevy is established, with a large user base and many reviews. Lift Proven is new, launched in October 2026, and has few reviews so far. If a long track record matters to you, that counts in Hevy's favour.

Switching

You do not have to choose blind. Export your workouts from Hevy (Profile › Settings › Export & Import Data › Export Data › Export Workouts), then in Lift Proven open Settings › Bring history from Strong or Hevy and choose the file. The coach uses your history to set your first weights. Exporting leaves your Hevy account as it is.

Verdict

  • Choose Hevy for a free, social log where you plan your own training, especially if you use the web, Apple Watch or Wear OS.
  • Choose Lift Proven if you want the weights set for you and adjusted every session, and you want your best lifts verified and ranked at your gym.

Let Lift Proven coach your next session

Bring your Hevy history across and the coach sets your weights from what you have lifted, then adjusts every session.
