Every guide, calculator and comparison on this site is written to help you train well, not to sell you something. This is how we make sure of that.

  1. Reviewed by a coachEvery page is reviewed by Aaron Parry, a strength and conditioning coach who has worked with RAF Rugby, Peterborough Rugby and Northampton Saints Community, before it goes live and whenever it changes.
  2. Evidence firstTraining advice comes from published research and established strength coaching texts. Where a guide relies on a study, it links to it, so you can read it yourself. Where something is coaching practice rather than tested science, we say so.
  3. Numbers you can checkThe calculators use the same formulas as the Lift Proven app, and each page names the formula it uses (Epley, Brzycki, DOTS, Wilks).
  4. Fair comparisonsWhen we compare apps, including our own, every fact about another app is sourced and dated. We say what other apps do well and who should stick with them.
  5. Plain about our interestLift Proven makes the app these pages mention. Pages say so, and the free tools work without downloading anything.
  6. Kept up to dateEach page shows when it was last reviewed. Prices and features change, so comparisons are checked again regularly.
  7. CorrectionsSpotted a mistake or something out of date? Email [email protected]. We check every report and correct the page.

Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you have an injury or a medical condition, speak to a qualified professional before changing your training.
